2017 is already here but the Lunar new year is more and more in the atmosphere in Saigon and what a better time than a week before Têt to visit the Chinese area of Cho Lon ? We will get lost in the middle of what will definitely be the busiest place of the city and see how people are getting ready for new year.
Then we propose you to join us on a one day session to learn everything necessary to master what has become today the best photographer’s companion: Adobe Lightroom.

New Lightroom workshop session to come next September, 21st
Given the large uncertainty about the climate, I do not really want to take our cameras in the rain and I am therefore proposing a Lightroom session highly complementary and even mandatory for any photographer :
1. Adobe Lightroom Training Workshop
During this 1 day workshop I will introduce you to Adobe Lightroom software specifically developed for today’s digital photographers. Expect to learn to download, organize, manage, develop, and present your photography using your own laptop, ensuring a smooth transition to digital photography workflow.

Well, this is a very busy week coming with three different but very exciting sessions coming :
1- Night session on thursday, June 21st.
2- 1/2 day session on saturday morning, June 23rd in HCMC.
3- Full day session near Can Gio on sunday, June 24th.

1- Night session on thursday, June 21st.
Our next night workshop is on June 21st from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm approximately. We will go back along the riverside to take pictures of the skyline on the waterfront from Dist. 2. Then we will move to Dist. 1 to play with the lights on the buildings there. Standing cameras and no movement so all levels can join. We’ll work on settings and technics for taking great night shots (that’s not so complicated). Needed is a tripod and a camera on which speed, aperture and sensibility can be set.

2- 1/2 day session on saturday morning, June 23rd in HCMC.
Our next 1/2 day workshop will be on June 23rd from 8 am to 1:00 pm in Ho Chi Minh City. The theme will be “Life along the water“.
3 hours of shooting and 1 hour of critics and comments on our photos (with the help of some fresh drink). We are lucky enough to have water everywhere in this city with some great places full of life. So we are going to visit people living on their boats or with direct access to the river.
So we will hang out with our cameras for about 3 hours and then watch and comment everybody’s pictures on a computer.

3- Full day session near Can Gio on sunday, June 24th.
Well it is another great day that is waiting for us here. We will leave HCMC in the morning and head south-west to reach the beaches of Can Gio.
We will visit the Sea Market there before stepping on a boat to reach a fishermen Island after a 45 mns trip. We will spend some time there, share lunch with a family there and explore this island.
Then back on the boat to reach the beach of Can Gio. Bathing suits are welcome of course but we will spend some time working on the documentary photography technic with people working to collect sand and clam eggs at low tide.
And back to HCMC at the end of the afternoon.

Back to Saigon after our full day session last sunday in Tay Ninh Province. And already planning our next 1/2 day session on Saturday morning, June 16th, from 7:30 am to approx.1:00 pm.
So I was thinking that since I have my “Saigon Kids” exhibition starting on suday, the perfect theme would be “Kids”.
Kids in the streets, in their environment, or portraits, close-up……..a lot of choice and a great theme to play more with our cameras’s settings.
So if you are free on saturday morning from 7:30 am to approx. 1:00 pm, just join the group.

Hi everybody
Our next session is a Full day session. June 10th is the day to leave that crowded, noisy and polluted city of Saigon to enjoy some peacefulness in the countryside.
We will drive 1 and 1/2 hour to reach Tay Ninh Province. Local market there, then a boat trip on the river to reach a Vietnamese family whose house is lost in the middle of the rice fields. Some great time is expecting us there and this is a good way to discover Vietnam a little bit more.
Back to Saigon in the evening with a stop in a Cao Dai Temple on the way.

Hi Folks
There will be a new 1/2 day session on Saturday morning, June 2nd, from 7:30 am to approx.1:00 pm.
The theme this time will be “Street food”. We will mostly work on composition, framing and exposure. Once again of course, any level is welcome to join.
So we will hang out in the streets of Saigon for about 3 hours and then watch and comment everybody’s pictures on a computer.

Here is the new date for the next 1/2 day session. It will be next Saturday, May 19th from 7:30 am to approx. 12:30 pm. As always we will spend about 3 hours shooting in the street and 2 more hours on a computer to watch and comment everybody’s pictures.
The theme of the day will be PORTRAITS. So we will mainly see how to work with the aperture mode, get the right depth of field….and of course how to shoot at people.
