Cet atelier est une introduction à Lightroom 4. La prochaine session sera exceptionnellement en Français.

Notre atelier Lightroom 4 est une formation rapide, intensive et créative. Nous couvrirons l’intégralité des étapes de post production, de l’importation à l’exportation finale en passant par l’organisation de votre photothèque et le traitement des images.  Logiciel très complet, il est le compagnon indispensable de tout photographe qui souhaite aller plus loin que la simple prise de vue. Sa simplicité d’utilisation en fait le logiciel le plus populaire auprès de la communauté de photographes, amateurs comme professionnels.

Vous créez les images et Lightroom 4 sera l’outil qui prendra soin du reste. Avec une base de données pour l’organisation et le rangement des images, un module Développement pour son traitement et sa mise en valeur, un composant de présentation diaporama, un moteur d’impression et des galeries Web, Lightroom est essentiel à votre travail.

Il vous suffit juste d’apporter votre ordinateur avec la version actuelle d’Adobe Lightroom 4 installée, et bien sûr, vos photos. Pendant une journée, nous allons couvrir l’ensemble du workflow Lightroom, y compris la capture, le catalogage, le tri, l’édition, le développement et la sortie de vos images.

L’objectif de cet atelier est de vous permettre de complètement maîtriser chacune de ces étapes, ce qui, au final, vous permettra de passer moins de temps devant votre ordinateur et plus de temps à prendre des photos.

En bref, à la fin de la journée, vous saurez utiliser ce logiciel et sachant tout ce que vous pouvez faire avec Lightroom aura également un impact direct sur votre façon de photographier et vous aidera à voir les choses différemment lors des prises de vue.

A new publication about me on French magazine L’Echo des Rizières

I sometimes need to visit my consulate’s website to get some informations. Well it was a good surprise this morning to see that some of my pictures where part of a slide show on their homepage.

I work a lot with the French Consulate here in Ho Chi Minh City and I shot one of their last event a few days ago : Jazz musician Bojan-Z during his concert last week.

it recently was a busy time in the world photographic awards with many prices and rewards distributed a bit everywhere in the world. Like this picture of Paul Hansen who won one of the most prestigious contest of the World Press Photo of the Year 2012 :

Têt in Ho Chi Minh City, what a thrill !!!!!!!

Hello everybody,

As Têt is part of today’s news, let me be on time for once and talk about what is going on around here for this new lunar year.

As I have received requests for specific pictures from some photo agencies, I’ve spent the last few days walking around in the streets of HCMC.

And as always, this is a really great moment indeed a privilege to be able to blend into the crowd and get inside this amazingly  festive atmosphere.

So I will make this post with some night pictures, I hope that these photos will help you feel a bit of that incredible atmosphere :

Looking for good French Cancan ? Come to Ho Chi Minh City !!!

Hi everybody,

waooww, it’s been such a long time I did not post on my blog. I realize just right now that the last time was about 3 months ago.

Well, times flies as we all know and those last three months have been quiet very busy in terms of photographic assignments. Lots of traveling, shootings, post processing…..and of course no time for my blog.

So I will try to come back and post on a more regular rhythm.

So today’s post is about French Cancan. I sometimes work for the French Chamber of Commerce here in Ho Chi Minh City and I happened to cover one of their yearly event a few weeks ago when I heard that one of the performance in the evening was about French Cancan dancers from the “Dance Center troupe” here in HCMC. I must admit that as a French man I was very eager to see their performance and see how Vietnamese dancers would do with one of the ‘Frenchiest” traditional dance.

Well I must admit that I was absolutely astonished by what I saw. The quality of the costumes, the beauty of the dancers and most of all how perfect their performance was.

Just so good that I really was eager to see them again the night after as that event was taking place on two consecutive evenings.

So as always when I like what I see, I like taking pictures of it and I really believe it is worth posting a few shots here :

French rock group GaBLé in Concert in black & white

Hello everyone,

As always now I was covering an event for the French consulate here in Ho Chi Minh City.  That last event was the concert of French rock – electronic group GaBlé. I always like shooting concerts even if the lights on stage here as not as good as in Europe and of course it does have bad consequences on the pictures. But we do with what we have and actually it was pretty good that time.

So that’s the reason why I tried some monochrome post treatment . This is the first time I make black & whites on concert pictures, but I actually feel that it really is matching with their music. Here are some of the pictures, I hope that you will like them as much as I enjoyed shooting them and when I like the music as much as I liked their music I really feel much more inspired with my camera.

Next workshop : Night session on Friday, Nov. 23rd from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm

Night session on Friday, Nov. 23rd.

Hello everybody,

Our next night workshop is on November 23rd from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm approximately. We will go back along the riverside to take pictures of the skyline on the waterfront from Dist. 2. Then we will move to Dist. 1 to play with the lights on the buildings there. Standing cameras and no movement so all levels can join. We’ll work on settings and technics for taking great night shots (that’s not so complicated). Needed is a tripod and a camera on which speed, aperture and sensibility can be set.

This is two brand new classes that I am very happy to propose you in October.

Given the large uncertainty about the climate, I did not really want to take our cameras in the rain and I am therefore proposing two different workshop topics highly complementary and even mandatory for any photographer :
